USSC Director of Research Jared Mondschein talks to The Wire about the recently passed aid package to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Mondschein details that Ukraine was an outlier in this package as it suffered “from more partisanship than the other issues.”

Mondschein compares opposition to these bills within Congress, and attributes dissent towards Ukraine aid to “isolationist” Republicans from the far-right of the party: “The assistance to Taiwan only had 34 votes against it in Congress, Israel only had 58 votes against it, whereas Ukraine had 112 votes against it.”
